I had a Breakdown. I told the world. It’s the best thing I’ve ever done. Here’s why…
It’s February. It’s cold. It’s dark. It’s raining. Again. I haven’t exercised in weeks. I don’t care. The only thing piling higher than my to-do list is my dishes. I don’t care. I can’t remember the last time I showered. I don’t care. I can’t remember the last time I cared. I don’t care.
This barely scratches the surface of what Burnout is like and it’d be a long blog if I wrote about the whole horrible experience so instead I made a video which you can watch here. This blog is about why I chose to the tell world and why it’s the best decision I’ve ever made.
First things first, Deloitte conducted a survey on Burnout in which a whopping 77% of respondents reported feeling symptoms of Burnout. That’s huge! It means that in a team of 4 people, the likelihood is 3 of them are experiencing some symptoms of Burnout. Yet when I conducted my own, perfectly scientific, Instagram survey 87% of respondents said they don’t feel comfortable talking about mental health. This alone should tell you everything you need to know. There’s a lot of burnt out people suffering in silence…needlessly.
